Sara provides strategic leadership and operational management for EVP Sam Mar and the Communications and External Affairs teams. In this role, she supports Arnold Ventures’ relationship and engagement with key policymakers and other external stakeholders; storytelling and editorial operations; and communications; all to drive policy change invested in evidence-based solutions to maximize opportunity and minimize injustice.

Sara began her career at the New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, where she created and launched NOLAready, the city’s centralized crisis communications systems. Prior to Arnold Ventures, Sara worked at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Department of Justice, and as chief of staff to civic philanthropists and in family offices.

She volunteers at Good Samaritan, with the American Library Association, and as a Spanish translator.

A Texan by blood and New Orleanian by choice, Sara is taking on the challenge of figuring out how to both live in Houston and bicycle to work.
